During many investigations we are faced with questionable events that appear on our evidence tapes. For this reason we set up a “control camera” in an area to record all entrances to the area being recorded. This control tape helps to identify natural occurrences that may appear questionable on our evidence tapes.
For example, if a control tape shows the presence of a house cat entering the room and the evidence tape from the room shows a small shadow entering the room, we can deduce that the shadow was created by the cat. There by eliminating it as possible paranormal activity. (When in doubt, toss it out.)
We use a Magnavox EasyCam for our control camera. It uses a regular VHS tape and can have an external microphone and light attached if needed. We use no other special features for this purpose.
Our hope is to document true paranormal activity and to rule out any possibilities of naturally occurring phenomenon. |
