Believed to be haunted, the farmhouse on Cramer Road has fallen into ruin. It is rumored to be the home of “Black Mary”, also known as “Blue Mary” and “The Blue Lady”. Although it is unsafe to enter it is the site of many gatherings by teenagers looking for a good scare. From an interview with a grandson of the last owner occupant, we have compiled a lot of interesting family stories. Some highlights are listed below. In the early 1900’s the residents of this farmhouse disappear. The animals were taken care of, we assume by farm hands. It is unknown how long the house remained empty. No other information has been available. Grandma & Grandpa purchase the farm, stocked and equipped. They moved in with their first borne son. Grandma was raised in this area just 2 farms down the road. Some time after they moved in, Grandpa was upstairs in one of the bedrooms and noticed a small door in the wall. It had remained unnoticed until then. He opened the door and found a small-unfinished room. He also found the previous residents. Both husband and wife were hanging from the rafters. Grandma and Grandpa lived there for many years raising their family. There were many unexplained events along the way. With the usual unexplained noises, etc. some other events have occurred and have been retold on many occasions. Grandma and Grandpa had lost three children at young ages. All three were lost in a tragic or an unexplained manner. Grandpa’s uncle passes away in his sleep, also for no apparent reason. In the early 1950’s, Dad stays home from school. Faking he was sick, he was left alone in the house while everyone else went to school or to do chores. After a short time of being alone in his bedroom, the window shade came down. Then the lights went out. Dad ran for the barn to help with chores after a miraculous recovery from his fake illness. As the children grew, it was not unusual for them to return home. Although with families of their own, many returned home to spend the weekend and help Grandma and Grandpa on the farm. In about 1958, a gray image came to stand along side the bed Aunt & Uncle were sleeping in. Uncle said ”over you head and it will go away”. Two weeks later their first borne child passed away. Around 1968 the image returned in the same manner. Aunt & Uncle’s last borne child passed away two weeks after the image was seen for the second time. In the early 1970’s, Aunt & Uncle see the image again. Two weeks later Uncle dies in a tragic car accident. During the funeral services for Uncle, two grandsons remain behind to tend to the farm chores. Upon completion of the chores the two try to leave the barn. The doors were stuck and would not open. Knowing the doors were loose fitting and could normally opened with the pull push of a finger, the two kept trying to open them. After a long time, the doors finally allowed themselves to be opened. Although Uncle had passed on, in about 1971 Aunt had come over to spend the weekend with Grandma & Grandpa. The gray imaged appeared again to Aunt. When Aunt returned home she found her father had passed away. Grandma passes on in 1976. Grandpa turns the farm over to one of his sons around 1982 and moves out of the farmhouse in to the home of one of his children. The house remains empty after Grandpa moves out. Grandpa passes in Dec. 1984. After Grandpa’s passing, his old rocking chair could be seen from time to time, rocking on it’s own. In early 1988, Grandson and family pull into the driveway to “see” the old house. Oldest child and wife both see a woman in the upstairs window. Dressed in a gray, turn of the century dress, this older woman was starring out the window at the people in the driveway. They could feel that “creepy, get out” feeling. Like their chest was being crushed and they couldn’t breath. The barn burned to the ground in the early 1990’s. In November 2001, IMOVES visits this site. We were met with a house in its last stages of ruin. The grass was over grown and the trees and vines have reclaimed most of the area. The equipment was set up and the group checked out the house. While upstairs, one of our members got on his hands and knees and looked through the small door and saw a face! When he took a picture he had a good shot of lots of orbs. Out side at the main door, a man’s face could be seen in the window. It could not be seen by the naked eye but could be clearly seen through the viewfinders of every camera and night vision video camera on the site. It was only the face, no body. Several snapshots were taken but only a few showed the man’s face. Although only a few snapshots showed anomalies, the video showed a woman’s face in a tree. She appeared to be watching us but made no attempt to discourage us from our visit. |
